Reflexology for Menopause Audenshaw
I am trained in Reflexology for Menopause by Sally Earlam. Reflexology is a wonderful therapy for providing support throughout the menopause journey, including perimenopause. Some symptoms can be debilitating, such as hot flushes, night sweats, increased perspiration, headaches, short-term memory loss, mood swings, dizziness, digestive disturbances, sudden weight gain and irregular periods with heavy bleeding.
Women can experience low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy due to the changes happening within the body.
Reflexology at this time can help support both the physical and emotional symptoms of menopause without the unwanted side effects associated with some drug-based treatments. Reflexology can also work very well alongside other treatments. It can help make some of these changes more bearable and relieve the stress and tension that can accompany menopause.
We must not forget that menopause is a time of transformation and regeneration and, although it may not always feel like it, it is not an illness. It is a normal, natural process and a unique journey for every individual. As your reflexologist, I am here to listen and support you, provide relaxation and help ease symptoms. Supporting this journey with reflexology can help restore hormonal balance and provide a process of emotional cleansing, helping to relieve stress and restore harmony in the body and mind.
For you, it is a time to pause and reframe. During this time, other big events may also be occurring, such as children flying the nest, and you may feel like you are losing your identity. Taking a positive approach, choosing this time to reinvent yourself and making yourself a priority can be important. What do you want for the next phase of your life?
Wherever your journey takes you, it is also worth considering the “Five Pillars of Menopause” to help support this process.
- Sleep - how to achieve your 8 hours
- Exercise - strength and weight-bearing exercise, flexibility, balance and aerobic activity
- Relaxation - helping the body to repair and giving the mind space
- Diet - choosing foods that can help optimise your health
- Purpose - finding what makes you tick and brings you joy, pleasure, fulfilment and purpose
